Mazda Motor Corporation is a Japanese automaker that operates in various automobile markets around the world. Mazda is located in Fuchu Aki in Hiroshima, Japan. Most of their cars are manufactured and assembled in Japan based plants. Then they spread all over the world in the places where they operate. Moreover, cars produced in Japan, Mazda also operates several assembly plants around the world. Each unit manufactured in these facilities is distributed directly to the respective sales markets.

The earliest roots of the Mazda track back in 1920, when its founder Jujiro Matsuda and a small group of investors acquired a small company called Toyo Cork Kogyo. Toyo Cork Kogyo produces machine tools for domestic sales. In 1927, the company changed its name to Toyo Kogyo Co. Ltd; Slowly but surely, the operation of Toyo Kogyo gradually shifted from the production of machine tools to the manufacture of cars.

The replacement of production led to the introduction of the three-wheeled truck, called Mazda-Go in 1931. In addition to the manufacture of this car, Toyo Kogyo also participates in the production of military weapons used in the Japanese army. This weapon was used during the Second World War, especially a series of Type 99 rifle from 30 to 35 years.

Mazda’s popularity began to grow in 1960 when the company introduced its first real car, which was the Mazda R360. The Mazda R360 had a coupe of 4 doors and two doors driven by a rear-mounted V-engine with 356 cc engines. This engine is paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox or a 2-speed automatic transmission. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power of up to 16 horsepower and 16 horsepower Torque. The engine was able to reach a top speed of about 52 miles per hour.

In addition to car production, Mazda’s activities included the development of the Wankel rotary engine. The company’s focus on developing this engine was largely driven by Mazda’s desire to use this technology as a means of differentiation from other Japanese automakers. Efforts and resources of Mazda, used in the development of the rotary engine, ultimately achieve positive results.

The development and use of the Mazda rotary engine in the R100 and RX series significantly increase the company’s export. The increase in exports was accompanied by the expansion of Mazda in other parts of the world. In 1968, Mazda began formal operations in Canada. Two years later, Mazda started its activity in the US market and became very successful. As a result of its success in America, Mazda produces Mazda Rotary Pickup, which was available only to buyers from North America.
