Raven is the largest bird in the family of crows, it is twice heavier than a normal crow 1.3 kg (3 pounds) with a length of up to 60 cm, the length of the wings is almost 1 meter (3 feet). Crows can live 40 years in the wild and 70 in captivity.

Ravens can soar raised high above the trees, unlike the crows that rely on an active flight. Ravens are capable of aerial stunts similar to those that are performed with the help of birds of prey.

Scientific name: Corvus corax
Lifespan: 10 – 15 years (In the wild)
Mass: 0.69 – 2 kg (Adult)
Wingspan: 100 – 150 cm (Adult)
Length: 56 – 78 cm (Adult)

When it comes to intelligence, these birds rate up there with chimpanzees and dolphins. In the logical test, the Crow had to get a food hanging piece, pulling a little back from the string, buttoning it with its claw and again until the food was reached. Many Ravens got food on their first attempts, some for 30 seconds. In the wild, ravens pushed rocks on people to not be able to go up to their nests.

If the raven sees another Raven is watching it hides its food. Like other Ravens too smart, sometimes it only works.

Ravens can perform this complicated sequence of actions at once and have never seen a line before or encountered meat hanging in this way. These birds are moving very well with complex tests, including “no test” or “trial and error” ones that include logic.

The oldest known wild “Common Raven,” was at least 22 years old, seven months old. It was banded and found in Nova Scotia.
